Description
These Chaya skates are ideal for those new to roller derby and skaters seeking a well ventilated low-cut quad skate. It provides an excellent foundation without costing a fortune. The appealing aspect is that if you choose to pursue Roller Derby, you can always enhance the plate, wheels, and other components for a style more to your liking, incorporating superior parts.
The boot is extremely soft with even softer padding, ensuring a snug fit. Crafted from a soft composite power-knit material, it stays cool in warm conditions, and its low cut maximises manoeuvrability.
The Shari 3.0 plate on these Ruby skates combines nylon with fibreglass, offering both high resistance to wear and exceptional durability while remaining lightweight. There's the option to attach it to most Chaya boots using the Dual Centre Mounting which also allows you to adjust the boot’s angle according to your riding style atop the plate. The Power toe system enhances power, speed, and control, maintaining a slight pre-tension in your muscles, enabling quicker reaction times.
The Emerald version does not feature the DCM mounting system in this configuration. Instead, it uses a traditional 4 bolt setup for mounting.
The trucks are composed of aluminium and are angled at 20º.
The Octo Paseo wheels on the Ruby Soft have a 78A durometer and a design tailored to offer newcomers an easy skating experience across a variety of surfaces. If your intention is to use these skates exclusively for indoor derby, consider acquiring harder wheels for more suitability in this environment.
The Cherry Toe stopper provides enhanced control and manoeuvrability. The semi-soft Jelly Interlock bushings offer a balance between comfort and control. The Wicked ABEC7 bearings ensure smooth and effortless roll speed.
