Fingerboards were initially produced in the 1970s when they served mainly as keychains for professional skaters. However, these boards gained increased attention within the skateboarding world after a homemade fingerboard was showcased in the 1985 skateboarding video “Future Primitive.” By the end of the 1990s, finger skateboards achieved broader popularity and acknowledgment beyond just the skateboarding community.
