Finger Skateboards
A Fingerboard Is a Pocket-Sized Skateboard
Fingerboards are small-scale skateboards crafted from either wood or plastic, with the wooden options enjoying greater popularity. Much like full-sized skateboards, fingerboards include a complete set of components, such as grip tape, hardware, two trucks, and four wheels. Typically measuring about 100 mm in length and around 30 mm in width, these finger skateboards are compact enough to fit effortlessly into your pocket.
Certain fingerboards arrive fully assembled and are immediately ready for executing tricks. However, for those who enjoy a hands-on approach, there are also complete kits available that require assembly.
Fingerboard Ramps and Rails for a Miniature Skatepark
Constructing an indoor skatepark has never been simpler thanks to fingerboard rails and ramps. These mini-sized ramps and rails are perfectly designed for use with your tiny skateboards. They replicate the shapes and structures of normal-sized skatepark obstacles.
Ranging from stair sets and iron rails to quarter pipes, these pocket-sized features are easily portable in your backpack. Investing in a collection of diverse ramps and rails not only enhances the enjoyment of fingerboarding but also hones your skills.
The Story Behind Finger Skateboards
Fingerboards were initially produced in the 1970s when they served mainly as keychains for professional skaters. However, these boards gained increased attention within the skateboarding world after a homemade fingerboard was showcased in the 1985 skateboarding video “Future Primitive.” By the end of the 1990s, finger skateboards achieved broader popularity and acknowledgment beyond just the skateboarding community.
Over the years, the quality of fingerboard decks and components has progressed. People now recognise that fingerboards offer more than just visual appeal; they provide great fun and effectively simulate genuine skateboard tricks.
