Kitesurfing Kites
What Are the Varieties of Kites for Kitesurfing?
Kitesurfing kites, also referred to as parafoil kites, come in different shapes, sizes, and constructions. There are two primary kite categories: Leading Edge Inflatable (LEI) and Foil.
An LEI kite is a single-skin parafoil kite equipped with inflatable bladders that offer structural support. This type of kite is the most prevalent for kitesurfing. It can remain buoyant on the water's surface and can be effortlessly relaunched, making LEI kites ideal for novices.
Although foil kites are the most effective for kitesurfing, they do not have inflatable bladders. They utilise either closed or open air cells that form with incoming air. If they descend into the water, there is a risk of them filling with water and sinking.
How to Select a Kitesurfing Kite?
Your proficiency level and riding approach influence the type of kiteboarding kite that suits you best. Riding approaches can be categorised into freeride and freestyle.
Every beginner starts with a freeride kite. Freeride kites harness less wind power and are simpler to control. These kites are perfect for starting your learning journey and cruising on flat water at moderate speed. Kiteboarders who are intermediate to advanced will opt for larger, freestyle kites. Even when wind conditions are mild, freestyle kites provide maximum power. This empowers the kiteboarder to navigate over large waves or achieve high speeds on flat waters.

It also ensures all components are compatible with one another.
Items Included in Kitesurfing Packages
The four main elements of equipment that our kitesurfing packages comprise are the kite, kitesurf bar, kiteboard, and straps & bindings. The sizes and lengths of kites and kiteboards may vary depending on your riding style. Your choice of straps and bindings should be guided by your shoe size. Finally, the key decision with bars involves selecting either a 4-line or 5-line kitesurf bar. 4-line bars are user-friendly for beginners and straightforward to use, whereas 5-line bars have a more complex setup but facilitate easier relaunches in lighter winds.
The harness is an additional piece of essential equipment for kitesurfing. It links you to the kitesurf bar and must be both comfortable and long-lasting. To explore our range, visit Kitesurfing Harnesses.
