Stunt Scooter Bars
Defining Stunt Scooter Bars
Stunt scooter bars are a vital component of your scooter configuration. They are offered in various sizes and designs to match your height and riding style. Constructed from aluminium, steel, or titanium, each material offers distinct advantages. Aluminium bars are lightweight, perfect for executing tricks. Steel bars, although heavier, provide greater durability. Titanium bars offer an excellent balance, being both light and robust.
Optimal Height for Scooter Bars
The correct height of scooter bars influences the riding experience. While preferred height is subjective, an ideal range is usually between your thighs and navel area for the best performance. Some professional riders opt for higher bars to enhance stability and control.
Regarding diameter, scooter bars can be either standard or oversized. Standard bars feature an outer diameter of 32 mm and an inner diameter of 28 mm. Oversized bars have an outer diameter of 35 mm and an inner diameter of either 28 mm or 32 mm. If the inner diameter is 28 mm, it will only pair with IHC forks. With a 32 mm inner diameter, HIC compression is necessary. For SCS, there are additional considerations regarding compatibility, such as the absence of slits in the bars. If uncertain about compatibility, refer to our guide: Buying Scooter Bars.
Choosing Between Y-Bar and T-Bar for Scooters
Scooter bars are mainly available in two designs: Y-bar and T-bar. Generally, Y-designed bars, typically made from aluminium, are favoured for park scootering. T-bars, usually crafted from steel, are popular for street riding. While the Y-bar consists of three or more welded sections, the T-bar is composed of two pieces, sometimes with reinforcements for added strength.
Certain stunt scooter bars incorporate a back sweep, where the bar angles back like many bicycle handlebars. Deciding between a scooter bar with or without a back sweep depends on personal preference.
