Carving Skis & Piste Skis
Slalom and Racing with Carving Skis on the Piste
Carving skis, often referred to as piste skis, are suitable for various disciplines on the slopes. While some are highly specialised, others are more user-friendly. Designed primarily for stability at high velocities, piste skis can be hard to handle, making them ideal for seasoned and expert skiers. These race skis are also utilised in professional settings, such as the world cup events.
Piste Ski: The Quintessential Carving Ski
Typically, the piste ski is structured as a carving ski, characterised by a narrow waist and a broader front, coupled with a rigid build for enhanced stability. Although crafted for compact snow on the slopes, some of the latest models feature a slightly altered construction, allowing for usage in off-piste conditions. This should only be attempted by skilled skiers, given its complexity.
