Guide to Building a Custom Skateboard
If you seek a personal setup with perfect parts, a custom skateboard is the definitive choice. In this concise video tutorial, Jonas demonstrates how to assemble a complete skateboard swiftly.
- Begin by removing the foil, specifically the non-sticky side
- Apply the griptape to the deck, starting from one end and progressing upwards
- Score the griptape using an Allen key or screwdriver
- Employ a box knife to trim any excess griptape - always slice upward at approximately a 45° angle
- Use the coarse side of the leftover griptape to smooth the edges
- Create holes in the griptape with the Allen key or a screwdriver for the bolts
- Insert bolts into these holes
- Align the trucks with the four bolts
- Attach the locking nuts and tighten them in a cross-diagonal sequence
- Repeat these actions for the other truck
- Utilise the truck axle to fit the wheel bearings
- Ensure that speed rings are positioned on both the top and bottom
- Secure the locking nut and ensure the wheel spins freely
- Repeat the process for the remaining wheels
With all components assembled, you are now ready to showcase your skills! Go and skate confidently!!
