Guide to Installing HIC Compression
HIC stands for Hidden Integrated Compression. In this video, Jonas, our scooter expert, demonstrates the correct method for installing HIC compression.
Initial step: Installing your fork and headset
- Begin by sliding the first bearing onto the fork
- Insert the fork into the head tube of your deck
- Position the second bearing into the upper bearing cup
- Secure the C-ring within the headset
- Attach the headset's top cap
Next step: Setting up the HIC scooter compression system
- Place the shim atop the fork
- Proceed by fastening your HIC top cap
- Ensure it is firmly secured. Excellent job!
Grease: When putting together metal components, using grease can greatly ease the process and extend the longevity of your parts. For HIC compression installation, it might be beneficial to apply a small dab of grease to both bearing cups as well as the threading on your HIC top cap.
