BMX Steering Components
Maintain Command With the Appropriate BMX Steering Equipment
For any BMX cyclist, having a setup that responds precisely to your needs is essential. This is where steering plays a crucial role. Similar to all BMX components, the equipment is designed to be robust and long-lasting.
While turning involves the handlebars, there are numerous elements that affect steering. For instance, your fork significantly impacts the responsiveness of your steering. Meanwhile, the top cap secures your headset and allows your bars to rotate with ease.
Is it Possible to Elevate BMX Handlebars?
In most cases, indeed! You will require BMX Tools and an Allen key. Firstly, loosen the screws securing the stem. Then loosen the compression bolt. Once these are loosened, simply slide the stem from the steering tube.
Subsequently, adjust the bars to your desired height. This can be achieved using spacers. Add as many spacers as needed to the steering tube so that your bar and stem settle at your preferred height.
When satisfied with the height, reposition the stem and tighten it. Finally, align the stem so that the handlebar is positioned correctly with the fork. However, if spacers do not achieve the necessary height, you may wish to consider a taller bar or a top load stem with greater rise.
