Cruiser Decks
What Constitutes a Cruiser Deck?
Cruiser decks resemble the iconic skateboards from the 1970s. Like those from that period, cruiser skateboard decks are distinguished by their stylish forms and striking graphics. Unlike many contemporary skateboard decks, cruisers are designed with a directional shape, featuring a flat nose and a kicktail. They typically have a gentle or completely flat concave.
The name itself indicates that cruiser decks are intended for gliding around town. Although basic tricks are possible on a cruiser, the scope is limited because they are not specifically built for stunts.
Which Deck Size Is Suitable for Cruising?
Your choice in size ultimately depends on personal taste. Cruiser decks can range from 25 to 34 inches in length and 7.5 to 10 inches in width. Shorter decks are perfect for younger and smaller users, while medium-sized decks cater to riders of any age or skill level.
While cruiser decks serve a similar purpose to some longboard decks, their smaller size offers a benefit. This is particularly useful in bustling city environments. You might even opt for a mini cruiser deck, which is approximately the same size as a Penny Board.
