Snowboard Goggle Lenses
Selecting the Right Snowboard Goggle Lenses
Owning multiple snowboard lenses ensures you are prepared to tackle the slopes in any weather conditions you may face throughout the day. The various lens colours are crafted not only for aesthetics but also for particular weather and lighting conditions.
VLT, short for visible light transmission, is essential to consider. It is expressed as a percentage, indicating the amount of light that penetrates through the lens. For sunny days, opt for a darker lens. On the other hand, for conditions with less light, yellow, amber, or rose hues are ideal. For further insights on selecting the appropriate lens, visit our Snowboard and Ski Goggles Guide.
Naturally, when picking an interchangeable lens, it's important the snow goggles are compatible.
Maintaining Clean Snow Goggle Lenses
Properly cleaning your snowboard lenses will preserve their condition, but it is crucial to do this correctly to prevent damage. Generally, refrain from using any products to clean the lens, as these can potentially cause harm. To clean the outer lens, commence by shaking off any snow adhering to the goggles. Instead of wiping, gently blot or dab the lens with a microfibre cloth to absorb excess moisture.
Apply the same method to the interior of the lens, taking special care as it houses the anti-fog coating, which is prone to damage. A widely recommended tip is to minimise contact with the lens interior to avoid removing finger marks.
