Mini BMX Bikes
What Defines a Mini BMX Bike?
Mini BMX bikes represent a category of BMX distinguished by their compact frames and robust, wide tyres. Despite their diminutive size, these bikes are constructed to operate like standard freestyle BMX, capable of enduring significant impacts.
Similar to full-sized BMX, mini BMX frames are crafted from Chromoly steel or high-tensile steel, guaranteeing a tough, durable build. However, the handlebars are similar in size to those on freestyle and race models, offering the mini BMX bikes a distinctive appearance that will make you conspicuous at the skatepark.
Contrasting Mini BMX with Regular BMX
The most notable difference lies in the tyres. Mini BMX tyres measure 10 inches in diameter, whereas standard freestyle tyres are 20 inches. This reduced diameter ensures that the setup and centre of gravity remain closer to the ground.
Additionally, the tyre tread is engineered to provide superior grip on dirt tracks and while tackling jumps at the skatepark. Due to their bulky tyres, most mini BMX are manufactured without brakes.
Advantages of Owning a Mini BMX
Investing in a mini BMX is undoubtedly a decision you won't regret. These bikes are adaptable and ideal for various settings, allowing you to practice on the street, on dirt tracks, and at the skatepark. Furthermore, as they are designed to remain small, there’s no need to worry about either you or your child outgrowing it.
