Donald Takayama, a Hawaiian professional surfer from the 1960s and 70s, is considered by some to be the world's first professional surfer. He relocated from Hawaii to California to pursue a career in surfboard shaping and went on to become a multiple-time champion at the United States Surfing Championships. With his elite status in the surfing world, Donald leveraged his own insights and those of fellow surfers to create surfboards that are both high-performing and beautifully shaped.
