Inline Skate Maintenance
Maintain Your Inline Skates in Prime Condition
By regularly maintaining your inline skates, you can extend their lifespan and prevent spending on expensive replacement components. Fortunately, keeping your inline skates in good condition does not have to be overly complex or time-consuming. Various maintenance tools and accessories are available to help you preserve the fresh appearance and performance of your skates.
Some inline skate maintenance tools include disinfectant spray to eliminate unpleasant odours, metal-compatible adhesives, and bearing cleaning solutions.
What is the Best Way to Clean My Inliners?
Regular cleaning is crucial for your inline skate care. You can use a damp cloth along with water and ordinary washing-up liquid for the boot, frame, and wheels. For the liner, check the washing instructions specific to your model to determine the correct temperature for cleaning.
Keeping your bearings clean is one of the key aspects. You'll require a dedicated skate bearing cleaner combined with a suitable cleansing agent. For more comprehensive information on bearing maintenance, please refer to our Bearing Cleaning and Lubrication guide.
How Do You Take Out Inline Skates Bearings?
To remove bearings from inline skates, use an Allen key by pressing it into the axle while securely holding the wheel as you loosen it. This method prevents damage to your axle. After detaching the wheels, insert your tool halfway into the bearing's centre, and while twisting the wheel, gently lever out your bearing and spacer.
If your wheels are fitted with a long sleeve bearing spacer, rollerblade bearing removal tools come with a bearing pusher. Simply insert the tool inside the bearing and push the bearing out while keeping a firm grip on the wheel.
