Surfskate Bearings
Experience Smooth Street Surfing with Surfskate Bearings
For an effortless ride on your surfskate, a quality set of bearings is essential. Bearings are commonly rated using the ABEC scale, which evaluates their precision and accuracy. The scale ranges from 1 to 9, with higher numbers indicating more precision. Typically, bearings are constructed from either steel or ceramics.
What is the Procedure to Clean Surfskate Bearings?
Begin by using your skate tool to detach the wheels from the trucks, and then extract the bearings from the wheels. Next, carefully remove the rubber shields with a sharp object, such as a knife.
Proceed by placing the bearings in a jar or designated bearing cleaner containing an alcohol or acetone solution. Shake the jar for about 10 seconds or until the solution becomes visibly dirty. Remove the bearings and allow them to dry. To ensure they are clean, give them a spin. Are they moving smoothly? Finally, apply bearing oil for lubrication. Once this is done, you can reassemble your setup and hit the streets.
