Klister Wax
The Most Adhesive Kick Wax: Klister Wax
Klister wax serves as a variant of kick wax designed to enhance traction on snow surfaces. In conditions where snow is particularly icy or wet, standard kick wax often fails to provide adequate grip. To address this, klister ski wax can be layered over the existing kick wax to improve grip. It's vital to select a klister wax that corresponds with the specific temperature range in which you will be skiing.
How Is Klister Wax Applied?
This wax is packaged in a container akin to a toothpaste tube. Begin the application by placing small quantities on the kick zone, directly underneath the bindings and either side of the ski's groove, spaced about 1 cm apart. After adding the wax, employ a scraper, waxing iron, or simply your thumb to distribute it across the grip zone, forming a thin layer. Once it’s smoothed out, allow it to cool, at which point you're ready to enjoy the trails. Alternatively, opt for klister spray wax for a faster and simpler application process.
For classic cross-country skiing, other waxing products include glide wax, wax scrapers, and brushes. Explore these options in Glide Wax for Cross Country Skis and Cross Country Ski Tools & Ski Maintenance Equipment.
